I haven't used any more hemp seed oil. I think it should be added to the list of Foods to Avoid, because it isn't there.
I have been vigilant about avoiding the foods properly.
It's not really a diet as much as a way to increase raw. I am in a healthy weight range, but have fat to lose around belly and hips.
I am happy with the 4lb loss, but I think it may have kicked in some more vitamin d from the fat cells and so I have increased my benicar to 20 mg every three hours.
I have a hard time with the idea that adding raw food and veggies to your diet is harmful. I have been super compliant with the MP and while I want to succeed on it, I was told in my reporting section that juicing fruits and vegetables (which I'm not doing, I'm blending them whole) creates too many antioxidants and can be harmful. Besides, I don't think I'm eating that much more than I ever was, just eating them in an easier way (blended, versus chewing).
This is hard to swallow, pun intended.

Goobygirl. There are a couple of things I think you need to understand.
1. You have been sick since before birth, incrementally getting sicker until your diagnosis was obvious. Just because you did something in the past does not make it the correct thing to do. After all, your past actions didn't stop you ending up so ill, did they?
2. Any processing of food which concentrates it and allows you to consume more (by weight) than you would of the fresh product, is also concentrating those things in the food which affect your health.
3. I can only report how your body works. I cannot change the way that you, or anybody else, thinks that your body works. Please understand that we are trying to help, not hinder, your recovery

I completely understand and agree, Trevor. I can't outthink the science, and it is what it is.
For the most part, I am still eating the same amount of fruits and vegetables. I am vegetarian, and have been for 7 years. However, hubby explained to me that blending the veggies and fruits is concentrating their effect, and I probably am getting more out of them in a shorter period of time. This makes sense.
I always have eaten a large salad daily, and when I mean large I mean:
1/2 head to 1 head of lettuce (romaine, mixed greens, spinach)
1/2 c. garbanzo, black or other beans
shredded cheese (which I haven't been eating for a week)
low fat dressing
fake bacon bits
1/2 cucumber
1-2 carrots, shredded
broccoli (couple of spears)
shredded cabbage, occasionally
tomatoes (several cherry or one medium)
All of this goes into a huge bowl. It is not an individual serving bowl, but a bowl that you would serve salad to several people in.
Ok, add to the day's total that I would easily have 5 servings of fruit and more steamed vegetables at dinner (with rice, or pasta for an entree).
I might have had a veggie burger during the day, or a couple of slices of bread, and/or an english muffin (all without folic acid, of course). Maybe some peanut butter.
Snackwise, a small bowl of ice cream, air popped popcorn, or tortilla chips and salsa. I have more or less been at 1500 calories per day or so for years.
I also started bicycling (lightly) this spring. I walk almost daily around the block.
So, I really don't think I have been adding that much more fruits and vegetables to my diet, just in a different way. Also, I have been staying raw until dinner, which is different for me as I would typically start the day with an english muffin. I think losing 4 lbs in a week may have triggered the release of vitamin D from my fat cells.
I have definitely pulled back on the bread/pasta and have lost some appetite. Today, I started out with an english muffin, and didn't feel better. I didn't feel better until I took a 1/2 tab of Benicar, which indicates to me that the zith may be kicking my butt a bit.
So, I slowed down for a little bit (not as much as I should have, most likely). The bowel movements slowed down a bit (were about 2 a day, then went to 4, and now about 3).
I take everyone's opinions/advice seriously, and don't want/need to reinvent the wheel. I am determined to heal and will listen closely.
