I'm reading Dr. Phil's, Real Life  "Preparing for the 7 Most Challenging Days of Your Life" and much of his book is based on exactly this!  Dealing with what comes your way and moving through it.  He lists from an internet poll the most challenging or stressful events one could face...in this order

From Highest stressor on down  (As Dr Phil writes there could be more and we may feel they need to be rearranged in anothers opinion but these were the results of the poll)

Foreclosure of mortgage or loan

Death of close family memeber

Major disease diagnosis

Major disease diagnosis of family member

Severe illness (living with a chronic state of illness)

Death of a spouse

Financial ruin

Change in financial state

Traumatic legal problem

Separation

Self-identity crisis

Change in mental helath of family member

Divorce

Severe injury

Death of close friend

One of the points that Dr. Phil makes is REAL LIFE BRINGS REAL PROBLEMS!  Which agrees with points you've all made!

HI ALL

This is Fred in WV.  I just read something along this line a few days ago.  If you do not get enough sleep you body can not repair itself.

Remember, we are all in this together and I am pulling for us.

Your friend in Sarcoidosis
Freddie

hi, instead of a quote I contribute with a new band that absolutely make me want to fight on. It is ...drum, drum caboom...: the BASEBALLS, a german band with three guys with good voices sing different "harmonies" turning old songs into soft rock versions. I love their song "hot n cold", they even sing good live acapella. So you germans have a very good band. And the americans have the country music which I always liked. Quote from the song "you change your mind like a girl changes her cloths" - that is how I often feel.  Youtube-link to Hot n cold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WflwF29Dko And then of course every country has their beautiful folk music and rythms/ Tussilago

Here's some recognition from the past of the challenges involved in shifting paradigms:

There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things. Because the innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions and only luke warm defenders in those who may do well under the new.
~ Machiavelli

But may perseverance pay off, and may the truth of the MP science prevail!

Oh this particular motivational quote from Ralph Marston seemed to tug at my heart to share with you this morning.  For those of us living through these challenging diseases we would be the first to realize that "Often, life is not easy"... Yet we know that with persistence and the hope that the MP is bringing for so many of us,  life is very manageable.

There is always some way to find great value in who we are and where we are going!   May God Bless --Deb

Often, life is not easy. But then, it doesn't really have to be easy to be great.
Meaningful achievement is never easy. And yet, as difficult as it is, that achievement will bring great satisfaction, value and inspiration to your life.
Relationships are not easy. However, those relationships can bring immense richness to every aspect of your existence.
It's not easy to stay disciplined or focused or physically fit. It's not easy to manage dozens of conflicting priorities.
Even so, when you choose to deal with life's challenges and difficulties as they come, you are able to transform them. You have the opportunity to transform those ups and downs, those frustrations, discomforts and inconveniences into genuine fulfillment.
Yes, many times life is not easy. And yet it is precisely because of the difficulties that you're able to make life great.
-- Ralph Marston

AHHHHHH, YES WE ARE SOLIDLY ON OUR WAY WITH MP......!

Wednesday, October 6, 2010
Solidly on your way You may be tired, or discouraged, or frustrated, or uncomfortable. No matter what, your best option is to move positively forward.
Hanging on to past disappointments will only hold you back. Taking comfort in being a victim gives you no real comfort at all.
Staying safe by never venturing out, by never taking risks, is the riskiest thing you can do. Because it guarantees that you won't get anything accomplished.
It takes effort to move forward, as well as courage and determination. Fortunately, you are filled with courage and determination, and you are able to make whatever effort you choose.
Yes, you may feel some fear and trepidation, yet courage is not the lack of fear. Your courage gives you the ability to feel your fear, to listen to what it has to say, to allow it to prepare you, and to move ahead.
You know what you desire and you know why you desire it. Set your sights on the goal, and know that you're solidly on your way toward its achievement.
-- Ralph Marston

HI ALL

This is Fred in WV.  Here is something I read today on FB and will share with you.

So much of me is made from what I've learned from you.  You'll
be with me like a handprint on my heart and now whatever way
our stories end, I know you have re-written mine by being my friend.

I feel this way about Dr Marshall and his staff along with all the MPers here at this site.

Remember, we are all in this together and I am pulling for us.

Your friend in Sarcoidosis
Freddie

Freddie,

That is so lovely.

And I'd like you to know that you have made this MP journey more tolerable and definitely more fun.

And about that quotation... as we say on FB, "Stealing!"  That's going on my wall now.

:P:D

HI JOYFUL, DEB, CLAIRE

This is Fred in WV.  I want to thank you all for all the kind words.  The quote did come from one of my daughter-in-laws.  She is a great person.

I am honored to be you friend and to help in any way I can.  I hope every one is having a great day as I am.  Keep on MPing.

Remember, we are all in this together and I am pulling for us.
