There is a thread about Beer on the MP study site,
http://www.marshallprotocol.com/view_topic.php?id=13023&forum_id=39&jump_to=169953#p169953
and I did not think my input is a serious enough comment in that discussion, but here is s little something to ponder upon;
have a Chuckle, follow this link.. http://dapatchy.com/chuckles/estrogen.html

So, I found some links about that women ought to drink more beer;
| Women and Beer: The FactsHere are some facts about women and beer: The sale of beer to women is a growing market. Women currently account for 25 percent of beer consumption in the USA. Women between the ages of 21 and 30 are drinking more beer than women in other age groups. Beer drinking among women in the 50-plus age group is on the increase, a fact that has not gone unnoticed among beer advertisers worldwide. |
and look at these;

http://ezinearticles.com/?Estrogen-Beer---Menopause-Beer-Is-in-the-Works&id=282670
http://www.portfolio.com/views/columns/first-draft/2008/01/11/Marketing-Beer-to-Women
I do not think that marketing beer to women is going to help a nation in health crisis.
Personally I avoid beer in the future, until I get well again.
My question is, how do you all feel differently after having had beer, wine or any other alcoholic drinks?

Lottis,
It's really a not-so-secret-anymore male conspiracy, see Beer goggles last longer for women.

It is interesting that the VDR transcribes the Estrogen-alpha receptor, and the Estrogen-beta receptor transcribes the VDR. Not a lot is known about this ying-yang relationship right now, but I don't scoff when people mention 'estrogen' any more

Chris,
I had to laugh at this from the article (hope this offends no one out there in MP land):
In the research, young women classed as typical, non-alcoholic drinkers - who have up to 40 drinks a month - were put through a number of tests, including an exercise on facial symmetry.
If I were drinking 40 drinks a month, I would be fooling myself if I didn't perceive myself to be abusing alcohol (there are all sorts of studies on the negative affects of alcohol on women's bodies...this is just one of them).
Setting aside the fact that there are cultures where one or two or more glasses of wine are drunk every day, I once tried to drink one small glass of red wine a night (wine that I very much liked) to lower my cholesterol. After three weeks, I felt like I was drinking cough syrup and was put off of wine for a long, long time. Additionally, I did not like having a less than sober feeling every single evening (yes, with one small glass), preferring, instead, to feel like me, not a fuzzy headed me. Even with loss of neuro functioning due to illness, I feel more like me now than I ever did even with one glass of wine when healthier.
Not saying I am against drinking entirely, as I enjoy a drink and shift in perception every now and then. I'd just be in serious trouble if I were drinking at the rate of the "typical, non-alcoholic [women] drinkers" in this study.

Oh good. I was worried there for a bit. Here I am sitting here with my jolly red hat on, sipping Australian Port Wine (18%). I would hate to think I was atypical (LOL)
A Very Merry Christmas and many Happy New Years to you all

 Chris, Now I see why I have had no success in choosing the right partner for me. ...let us just hope and pray that the damage is not permanent.
During my student years I became very fond of beer. I did not like the taste of wine.
I even took a course in beer tasting.
I developed a great ability to taste different kinds of beer, and was a member of the beer association in Sweden. Svenska Ölfrämjandet http://www.svenskaolframjandet.se
Back in the eighties we were working to get approval to reintroduce the beer with lower alcohol levels, 3,5 volume pro cent, which had been taken out from the "Systembolaget", which had monopoly to sell alcoholic beverages.
We wanted to get more beer imported from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, where the monks had created a great tradition of high quality beers.
So, you can understand how this might have contributed to the development of the Th1 pathogens within my body. This is so, so sad. I wish I had been like the other girls, drinking wine or a cocktail...
These days, I drink very seldom, only a little Irish whiskey, or a Swedish snaps, at holidays. If I go to a party I have some white wine, or a beer of some less exiting kind. But it leans towards specially selected red wine in the future...if any alcohol at all.

Lottis,
At the college I went to, there was a informal women's club named the BLA. In full, it was 'the Budweiser Ladies Auxiliary. And yes, I did marry a member. Whether we each made the right choice might be open to question, but it's been 37 years now ....
During the holidays, it's a shot (or two) of Linie that we use to toast the end of the holiday meal. All in moderation, of course, it's the MP way.
